When winter gets here can we have a new server? A clean server, fresh starting out new like freshly fallen snow on the unmark ground out side kaladim?

Please. Turn that beta server into a new server starting from scratch.

They are doing a recycle server where you will be able to start fresh . People don't want the work they have done over the last 5 years just to vanish .

Affirmative, as oblexs indicates green99 is scheduled for launch sometime following Velious' launch.

I wanna do a new server in classic... I missed it :P I started playing heavily about a year ago.

My understanding is the recycle server will begin with FULL classic . That means legacy items / original plane drops etc . It then will follow the proper time line up to velious . So you will be starting with classic .

I think if they open one of those up.... thats where i would go.

What I'm wondering is the naming . So you use the same name on green as on blue , and it finally makes it to merger day . When it merges with blue do you have to pick a new name ?

Also just thought about this one . On merger what if you already have 8 characters and no slots open for a new one ?

These questions have been raised, but without any additional dev input since the initial announcement we are left with little more than conjecture of "what ifs." It unsoundly that the merges will be executed similar to those in other mmos with names being retained by the oldest character and a suffix such as #### added to others with the same name.

The character count question does not seem to have an answer. I think the best solution is to utiliZe a different account for green than blue. They will after all require file swaps or different installations due to different spdar files, etc. so tying a different account to each installation would be a simple enough solution ^^

All speculation at this point though ^^

They would probably just add an X at the end of your merged characters name and then they'll work on petitions to clean up name change once they have time.

This I don't know. If it were my call, I would give about a months notice saying more or less that if you want your characters merged, you need to make sure you have room in your character select screen or else the Green chars will be wiped.
