Coming Back: Velious+Wizard+PvP
 

With Velious coming out and Semester ending sooncam looking to come back and try EQ PvP again; but this time I wont be playing a melee mainly due to having 300-400ms and it been a huge disadvantage when fighting people on 20-100ms.

Anyhow:

Obviously playing a caster on a higher ping would be better than a melee so been tossing up between playing my 54 druid or leveling a Wizard up.

The 54 Druid would drop me right back in to the raid scene and has mor utlity than a Wizard; but I think it'd be beneficial playing the Wizard 1-50 for the 2-3 odd weeks it takes to get a better grasp on caster PvP and for the added DPS on raids in Velious.

So Question is: for Velious PvP are Wizards decent or just melee fodder? Or will you end up been a sad lonely Azrael player hunting under-geared/leveling players to 2 shot to get some PvP action?

Or a Cleric and be pure support+needed on raids.

The problem with wizards in velious is that everyone gets more hp, and their nukes don't suddenly do more damage. On the same shake you are going to be getting more hp as well which makes you not quite as squishy, but you still have to play a lot more careful than you did in Kunark.

On the upside, Velious has a lot of very wide open zones with hills that make finding and killing a wizard a complete pain in the ass if they know what they're doing. So if you're doing group pvp and they try to focus your wizard, he can randomly shadow step 2 miles away giving your guys more time to focus on whatever they're doing as they have to once again switch targets and watch for the wizard to come back.

It's really what you prefer to do, with that high of ping I personally think playing a wizard would be a nightmare, but there's not much u can play that wouldn't have a hard time.

I say god no to cleric, that ping would suck in all realms of life as one. Wiz/Dru for sure. Prolly more so wiz since no one will expect you to heal plus you have yonder etc.

semester ending? wut, velious release is middle of semester, u roo retards have ur semster during winter time?

i mean, if you want to play a blue server, come on back. If you like to pvp, i'd wait and see if the staff makes any changes to current situation.

Druids get better in velious. Stronger heals, fire resist debuff plus a full set of wyvern gear and you'll have 1k + ac.

There are still the same pieces of scum in Holocaust now that there were when you named them and said they are the reason you quit the guild in the first place.

You going to join a different guild when you come back I'm assuming right?

P.S. Better pick something you can make lvl 60 by Velious drop date if you know what's good for you.
