Are we going pre-buff Velious or true timeline in regards to the polishing?

By that I mean the stuff like: Tunare only dropping PoG BPs for several months, the "consolation prizes" for PoG (druid gloves, paladin sword, etc), Ventani monk robe regen being 7 a tick, Scepter of Desctruction being worse ratio with garbage proc rate, but procs at lvl 1, pre-buff AoW loot, Vulak weapons being extremely rare and typically bad, the two-hander and hand to hand buffs, Plane of Mischief gear changes, corpse dragging thru faction zones, Essence Lens quest (aka the "We're sorry about that whole primal thing" quest), Velketor not regenning hp after wipes, Primal proc rates (or lack thereof) & trade-ins, flowing thought, etc. I could go on all day. Although Velious ended up in a good place, people seem to forget it required a LOT of polishing. Some of you may remember Furor's posts.

This seems like a pretty big deal, but I've not seen any concrete answers. I tried and tried to get this answered on the stream, but no luck. Judging by things like the planes, fungi tunic and VP, they may be looked at on a case-by-case basis with server health in mind?

edit: i'm going by memory on this stuff, come to think of it some of it may have been just after Luclin release. Essence Lens and flowing thought for example. Neither were relevant to me at the time.

Yeah, what is the story on this?

From what I read in the beta forums they are trying for the true timeline.

I am 99% sure that the bugs you listed will not be implemented. Velk not regaing hp, you serious? He won't ever not be killed anyways

I'm pretty sure this project is mimicking the classic Everquest, but that doesn't mean it has to mimick the bugs that verant/soe never intended

I believe we are going to see many of the first itemization changes implemented on day 1.

If what Nilbog said is true and that current Velious beta is release, then spells such as Celestial Cleanse and Divine Strength will be implemented right off the bat, instead of a couple months down the road. Or at least it seems that way.

the main problem I see w/ starting off with upgraded weapons is that you could almost argue that post-buff Vulak and Tunare weapons were Luclin era. They didn't exist until mere weeks before Luclin release, and they are dramatically better than any other options for the most part, to the point that people won't care to spend dkp on inferior options. Unless, of course, mob difficulty/progression required it.

there's a million other little things to debate (getting spells day 1 is another big one) so I'm surprised there hasn't been much chatter regarding the implementation.

There has been plenty of discussion with the devs on these issues for the last 2 years.

Spells are coming in at the appropriate patches.

Tunare may have several implementations.

Pre/post upgrade ntov, kael, and Sleepers items are probably going to be post upgrade.

Quest armors require warmly (until ally is added) on the main faction instead of the king faction and indifferent.

ally is in on beta. warmly still true?

eisley 07-09-2015 10:09 AM

Ally already exists on the current version, no? Just different text - warmly & cannot be improved instead of ally. I don't recall if "max warmly" was ever needed back in the day, before ally implementation.
