Why No Classic Mob Regen?
Why do mobs get their HP once again promoted up to 100% on engagement? I sure as hell don't and that wasn't classic. I remember re-engaging a few minutes later and finishing off mobs. Furthermore, I remember seeing goblins and sarnak fight it out in OOT and picking off the loser. How come we didn't keep that classic?

NPCs regen at an improved rate compared to players, I suspect you are seeing a display bug in the target window that doesn't update the health properly if you are out of a certain range. If a few minutes have elapsed any mob will have gotten back to full health. Quote:

All anachronisms and odd mob placement aside regarding Sarnak/Goblins in OOT...
Yes, Mob Regen is far higher here than it was on classic. I can absolutely verify this, because my monk used to solo the Froglok King by beating on him till my monk had used mend, feigning behind him, bandaging, and re-engaging. 2 or 3 rounds and I had him dead. Usually the king would regen about 10-15% by the time I bandaged up to 75%. I've noticed mobs regenerating at very fast rates here, particularly when they're not engaged in combat. I can basically guarantee it's not slow enough for me to do my bandage re-engage trick to kill certain mobs. |
I agree, they certainly aren't promoted to 100% on agro but do have high regen when not engaged. It almost seems like a percent (5-10%) per tick instead of a fixed number of HPs per tick, like PCs.
Ex: 80hp/tick DOT as a necro on a ~lvl 35 mob then FD at its feet. It will easily regen faster than the DOT and maintain 100% health. |

Probably lag - lots of times when I first target a group member for a heal they show full health for a sec even tho their bar in the group window says otherwise. Just have to be mindful of that lag issue imo.
