The new bolts are useless
 
Can honestly say I dont even use my bolts any more in pvp or pve they are utterly useless. They hit my pet 99% of the time and dont do anything, they hit other people in the group and dont do anything. Thanks for making a useless class even more useless :)

bolts had all kinds of problems on uneven ground, they get a massive range advantage to compensate

Funny that u complain.

I remember bolts would hit ur own horse too, depending on ur size. I didnt play a mage til pop.

Bolts were situational. And were not just point and click.

i remember bolts randomly flying by me in oasis back in classic, sometimes hitting random shit on the way.

shits classic and glad its been fixed from the heat seeking missile it once was.

I have 0 problems with current iteration of bolts, I think the increased speed and ability to chain cast them REALLY helps and buffs the spells. They are definitely situational; must have DD on bar also.

I wish we could get double bolts for free tho, cus thats real classic.

One thing I will definitely say about bolts is their range advantage gets hurt by Z-axis checks and levitate is crucial for casters in pvp

We're extremely hard pressed atm to find anything to bitch about that ain't classic

The once long pvp list has basically been reduced to:

- remove Z-axis from spell cast range/melee check
- bard dots still a little strong

And both are known issues that a dev that can get the job done is aware of

Bolts on classic had unlimited range. If your gonna add in the ability for bolts to run into trees and other players not in range, then lets be real and make it 100% classic. Give me my pet assist targeting key and give me my zone range bolts. I want to be able to zone in with my mage, pop a pet, /pet attack people in zone, and spam flare on them until I find were they are at. Thats classic.

What do u mean unlimited range? after start of cast it's unlimited range on completion? Or it will chase someone for unlimited range?

Also flare is a straight line bolt, it does not chase target. From what i remember being a live mage flare was just like a projectile light source (was a blind-as-a-bat erudite, wtb classic vision mechanics)

Why do you keep using that spell in your comments?

The zonewide pet assist would be great to have as it is very classic

Epic mage pet magic resist/runspeed buff too

Not 100% sure about flares but I know you could fire a bolt without a target and it would go insanely far

Another thing with the bolts is their little gbs graphic... Telin said he just needed one little thing to get to work on that (maybe he already has it and I don't know). It is a bitch at times to judge how to adjust firing a 2nd bolt after the first one fails.
