Specific Character Freezes Upon Login

A few weeks ago I was fighting a croc in the Oasis and went LD mid fight. Once I was able to log back on I had died and was in the EC tunnel. Every time I log on with this character it either instantly crashes, or I take a few steps and it crashes. Luckily I was able to get my buddy to log on on his computer and make his way to the Oasis and loot my corpse. He said it was super super laggy making his way over there though. Also there is no nametag above the character in the character select screen. My other characters behave normally. If anyone has any ideas that would be great.

try removing logfile and other ini files for that specific character (dont delete just move to a different folder and try again)

also just curious - what race / class ?

Lvl 19 shaman. I looked through my EQ files and can't find what you are talking about. I found a folder called logs but it doesn't seem like it...

where might I find the logfiles ind ini files?

Is your EverQuest folder located within your "Program Files" folder?

If so, thats Windows causing issues.

simply move the entire folder somewhere else (cut+paste). Somewhere else outside Program Files. Such as C:\EQ\ or wherever you'd like.

Nope, it's not in program files.

the ini files i suggest removing can be found by going into your EQ folder, and typing your characters name into the search field (ctrl+f)

it should show a list of ini and other files with your characters name as part of the filename. cut and paste all of those files you find to a different location - like in a temp folder on your desktop.. Then try loading up that character again.

Well that was pretty darn simple. Thanks for holding my hand through it :) looks like it works now! Awesome!
