Any classes needed?

I have played eq since 2002 but new to P99, I have my level 8 mage but was curious if there are any classes that seem to be a low number of on blue and hard to find? Or are there plenty of all classes everywhere?

others may disagree with my advice but if i were to start over I would pick a class that can solo in a pinch. Having trouble finding groups lately, 28 rogue.

Cleric or Enc are always loved, but play a class you love. I'd rather have someone who's a fantastic player than a warm body.

It's a bit of an oversimplification, but essentially yes there are plenty of all classes everywhere. Pick the class that appeals to you (taking in to consideration your desire to solo vs. group, as Monty405 noted).

... but, if you want to ignore that advice, do a quick search, or even just check the last few pages of the main server forum. Someone compiled statistics on how many of each race/class were on one night recently.

*EDIT*
I stopped being lazy and found the thread ... but again, I strongly recommend against using it to decide what to play. Server populations change, which guild you want to join changes, what classes that guild is recruiting for changes ... basically everything changes except you. So it really makes sense to pick a class/race that you like, because you're going to be the only constant.

But that being said: http://www.project1999.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=184864

I agree that you should pick a class that can solo. Grouping can be a pain sometimes.

Play whatever you're going to enjoy bc if you don't care to shoot to the raid scene asap it will not matter and you'll find a home eventually. If you do just want to grind up and find a spot in the raid scene then role a cleric or a wizard.

Well after looking into some different classes I decided to go with HE Cleric. I have raided as one on live for about 5 years. Was just thinking about maybe mixing it up lol. Thank all for the suggestions.

high elf confirmed worst race in norrath though, you have been warned

High Elves have a couple advantages as clerics -
- Highest base wis
- Highest base cha
- Tunare deity = nice tunare quest item in Velious
- Custom velious helm = THUNDERCATS
- Racial armor is sorta meh, but has MR/wis in a couple of good slots (for Kunark)

Their weaknesses are -
- High elves suck
- Weak str (not unique to high elves though)
- No racial hide/sneak/snare neck/good faction restrictions

Zero reason to make a high elf cleric.

Dark elf all the way.
