Launching a new Pre-Kunark Server
 

Hello everyone,

First off, I wanna say this whole community is awesome and I love returning to EQ once in a while to get that old school feel and gameplay. I have noticed, however, that as the current server has matured, it's pretty established and most players at the low levels are twinks (which makes sense and all, time and progress).

What I was wondering, however, was whether it had been considered to launch a new pre-kunark instance of P-1999. You guys probably have the codebase that you could deploy to the new server based on your source control evolving over time. Has this been considered? I think this would be a cool option for people who wanted to start fresh and I'm sure a new wave of donations would happily support it.

yeah, different discussions between a team pvp server, true time progression etc. There might be nothing, but the last thing we need is the staff working even more until velious is finished.

That sounds encouraging, I'm in same position as Op, just returned and it seems like there's a lot of returning old EQ players lately. As long as there is some discussion on the topic and perhaps some polls to see what is desired, (when staff is finished with Velious and takes a well-deserved vacation). If interest would be there, I'm sure lots of people would be happy to donate to make it a reality, at least I am.

Even though I played on Rallos Zek, on live EQ, I would absolutely love a team PvP server. FFA PvP is fun, but the constant paranoia of it can get a bit old at times.

Not to be an ass, but can we get one of these threads stickied and start banning accounts that continue to bring up this horse and beat it again, and again, and again
