Sufficient computer

Hello, I have decided to return to the wonderful world of Norrath:) but I have a couple of questions regarding the computer power needed to play. Believe it or not but last time I had a desktop computer was in 2003, which I then sold because EQ was "ruining" my life :D

Anyhow, I am buying a new desktop computer tomorrow but I am thinking I won't need to spend all that much money on it since I will only use it to play EQ, thus want to keep the spending at a minimum.

So, do you think Intel dual core G2020 2.9GH will do for CPU?
Also, I'm hoping the motherboard (Gigabyte 61M-S/WW) will sufice as far as graphics are concerned thus avoiding buying a seperate graphics card.
As for RAM, DDR3 2GB
+ Windows XP

Obviously I want to be able to run EQ at its highest setting, so any tips is greatly welcomed as I want this to be an enjoyable EQ nostalgia trip:)

Thanks!

Larken

There are probably calculators that can run EQ P99. It's a 16 year old game.

Your CPU is better than mine.

XP may not be supported but it is free and it has a x64 version.

EQ runs just fine on a P4 2.0ghz with 2gig of ram, not to mention a 7yr old Atom based Netbook with Intel GMA954 graphics. You'll be just fine.

What sort of hard drive do you intend to use? If you're reusing one you have (mechanical), it may be worthwhile to bump up the ram to maybe 4GB or so - allocate 2.5gb for a ramdisk for a EQlite install (approx 1.9gb) - loading will be SO fast!

If you get Win7, you'll get Win 10 upgrade for free, it's posted all over many forums.

Nor is 7, or at least not for very much longer if it still is. Most windows 7 PC's being sold are being given the upgrade to 8 disks w/ it.

Yeah, most support of Win7 ended in January. They still promise some limited support until 2020.
