Hit up a pawn shop. I've seen complete rigs in a few of them that will do just fine for EQ.

Give it up, being drunk and stupid without EQ isn't nearly as much fun as it is with it.

There are some really cheap barebones systems that are actually pretty good... http://www.newegg.com and other similar sites have some good bargains.

You'll be EQ-ready within $250-$350.
