Spells scribing and memming too fast?

I distinctly remember in classic that when you created a new character and sat down to scribe and mem your first two spells, it took FOREVER to do both. I just made a shaman on blue and it took about a second to scribe both spells and about five seconds to mem them, as a newly-created character.

Is this something that just simply can't be changed, or are the devs not aware of it? Other people remember this right?

You are certainly correct. It took probably 10 minutes to scribe a new set of spells.

I'm pretty sure they are aware of this but don't want to change it back. Personally I would like it again.

Memorizing spells increased with level (or rumors of meditate skill, which is basically by level). To the point that high level memorizing is classic. But low level is far too quick.

I remember that when you first get meditate, memming suddenly seemed to go considerably faster, so I do think meditate skill has something to do with it. I remember thinking "cant wait until level 8 so I can get med and start fast memming" cause I'd generally die a lot in the early days and have to re-mem my spells quite often.

It should be based off meditate and the level of what you are scribing/memming

Incorrect, the classic scribing of spells was always always slow and never improved

only memming spells improved as you leveld / meditate

scribing always was painfully slow, even lvl 60

Yeah I think scribing was always slow for spells of your current level. Like scribing lvl 44 spells at lvl 44. But scribing lvl 5 spells at lvl 44 would go pretty fast.
