Howdy yall, when i get to the char select screen, the following text is displayed as character names:

Your client files are out of date from EQChanges.zip. Please visit Project1999.org and get the latest EQChanges.zip file from Getting Started post and make sure to extract to your EQ folder. (ERROCODE DLL-2)

I got the latest P99Files36.zip and overwrote all files when extracting, and merged the folders as well.

I'm having the same problem =(

thanks to Sagginik who figured it out - dsetup.dll was being deleted by McAfee. now runs fine

can you tell me how to get around McAfee from deleting the dsetup.dll file ? I am using McAfee but maybe I am a bit stupid, I think this is preventing me from running the game on my laptop.

i disabled mine thru msconfig: click start, type msconfig and hit enter, find the mcafee crap, untick boxes, confirm and reboot pc (this will stay disabled, so i actually disable it just to play and enable once i go back to work)

McAfee lives in the rain forest now and has a meth lab

wouldn't even bother using his weak anti-virus

if i had a pc of my own, i wouldnt :) but ever since these employers started handing out company laptops, i stopped buying my own

so the issue never actually went away. after i re-unpacked with mcafee disabled, patched, and launched, i saw the character select screen looked normal so i shut it off, hoping to get some playtime in today. now, the same issue as in my OP

ok, moved everything to another pc, which has avg. disabled all of avg services and startup items, still same issue
