Jousting/movement questions
 

I've played on red for awhile and figured I'd finally ask some questions I've been wondering about (ya I should of asked a long time ago so I wasn't so noob at jousting).

- Any tricks to jousting besides just practicing a shit ton? Before the smaller hit boxes went into effect, I was decent (beat some guys badly but also some people beat me badly in jousting). Now it seems I can't do anything and yet get hit nonstop from people who are 20 feet away from me all the time.

- "warping". While jousting someone is warping all over 10 feet at a time across my screen(melee, not shadowstepping). Got a good computer and such, internet can be a bit spotty sometimes, but I am wondering if this is just a result of weird eq movement mechanics while someone is strafing? Also occasionally I will see someone warp 100 feet away (not a class that can use shadow step). Has happened maybe 4 times in pvp in the last 2 months, and didn't seem like it was lag. Was wondering if I am the only one with these issues.

- Movement speed, I dispell someones sow, they use jboots. I have sow on, and im strafing in the same line as them, and they are still outdistancing me (no I am not encumbered).

Sit at zone lines. use rog snare/Tstaff. Dont need to joust

You would be surprised how many times ive been muscle locked and not even hit once while strafing

smaller hit boxes just take extra time getting used to. it sounds like you were getting the hang of the larger hit boxes now you just need to start again learning on the smaller hit boxes. over time, you eventually just know when to hit that attack key.

the client tries to predict the next few movements (steps) of other players based on their current direction. so it looks like he's moving forward on your screen but he actually juked left and it will be synchronized on your screen in a second... you just gotta learn to predict their movements.


jump for even faster movement. but don't use up your entire stamina bar. always leave like a bubble left.


SoW, side-strafe, jump = fastest

also might be worth mentioning that the higher level sow = faster the sow

weird how the love affair between you guys is so intense. Maybe post something useful and relevant to the thread or take it to PM's with your steamy hot butt-lust guys? No one cares. Quit bitching up every single thread with whiny bitchfest bullshit. One guild prides themselves on pure PVP and used to get pixels... one guild barely focuses on PVP and hoards all the pixels. We get it. Let your guild tag do the talking, and leave it. You all want to be in the same guild and assimilate or something? Or accept that the way you enjoy the game is fundamentally different, and move on? It's a pvp server... go kill each other if you want. And it's still EQ, go kill a dragon if you want. It's EQ PVP, kill each other WHILE killing dragons, or shut the hell up.
