sorry bro i just tipped a dial a port wizzy all my plat and i dont carry more then i need.

stop being a entitled prick sometime.

Or, if u have farmed plat for years, u can make sure to have plat or hoof it. For example, a 60 shaman farming bugs in seb all day expecting free ports is acting far more entitled than the porter who just wants a small donation for saving you time. Run ur ass next time u feel cheap ffs.

seriously? the NOT dickbag way to do this is "hey, i really don't have any money but will you give me a ride anyways?" instead of just taking the ride, dropping group and running off to farm.

the specific advertisement was "porting to places for plats"

entitled prick is a little harsh. it is custom, and what everyone expects. hell, i've had guys give me 3p and i'm cool with it. if i'm not on my druid and i gotta get around, you better believe i'm gonna tip the guy that takes me out even if he's a friend or guildy.

bottom line, tip your porter, tip for your buffs, make an effort to be nice to people...bro.

Even offering to pay helps. Ive turned down payment from plenty of lowbies in rags offering me a few gold to a couple plat, because at least theyre willing.

yeah this ^^

i've had guys try to give me a couple fine steel, or their food/water.. or whatever other weird crap.. uh.. spider silk.. i'm sure there's more i can't think of. i can't in good conscience take money from those guys.

not to make like getting shorted is even common. it really isn't. most people are super grateful. just when you think it's gonna be a bleak day, someone will make it for you and show they really appreciate your time. what's really surprising too is that rarely does it seem only cause they need something from you... the general population of p99 is much friendlier than the rants and flames forum would let on.

it's the rare exception out of hundreds and hundreds that would ever be sneaky about it, short you and not even say thanks.

i just wanted to call a guy out on it this time and hope the reputation sticks. wasn't exactly some random poor noob heh.

Drob 01-28-2015 12:24 AM

this new guy is ruining the drob name

Pokesan 01-28-2015 12:59 AM

we wouldn't need to tip porters or buffers if there was a guaranteed minimum income for those classes

Whirled 01-28-2015 07:34 AM

weird... i tend to port ppl for free (or donations) and when they do tip it is usually 2 to 50plat. How much frigin easier can it get for going... click*
Half the time I cancel the transaction anyways unless they insist or have piles of treasure/plat falling out of their pockets.

...but I understand what some saying; like when a guy who has a SBS, RBG, HBC & more just runs off , while the poor player may feel he now owes u for the same click.

We all playing the same game so when I'm freely available, I try to make sure I do a quick zone shout that I'm porting out + if any others want/need a port. No mention of any fees, donations or tips but usually players will.

If you're vindictive or just like to keep track then keep a note book close as some do for their no fly list or problem flyers.
