Deepwater goblins in Oasis shooting arrows now
 

I noticed that with one of the recent patches to blue, the deepwater goblins in Oasis of Marr are now shooting arrows at me.

I read on the wiki that they are supposed to be clerics, yet they nuke, root and also now fire arrows at you from a distance. One of these things is not like the other. Should these guys really shoot arrows?

I remember Prexus used to be so overpopulated that people would hunt these guys :D

It took a while to time the printscreen just right. I actually had to heal once and ended up almost dying.

I'm ok with this whether or not they should be able to.

To shoot arrows they should carry a bow and I think it was 2 or 4 arrows on live.

Aqua goblins and (some?) deep water goblins did this.

Edit: also they shouldn't lose ammo despite shooting. It should all be there to loot.

This is a little known fact, but goblin clerics actually have bows and arrows.

The waterlogged branches in the bottom of the lake makes the wood pliable enough that they can string it with seaweed. The same wood is used for the arrows and fish bones are used for the head.

They usually use them to hunt fish, but if you come and try to ruin their land, they won't be afraid to use them to defend themselves.

In this particular goblin's defense, I did go there for the specific intent of ruining their land.

the goblins in DC shoot arrows now as well. dont know if classic but i dont remember them doing that on this server a while back.

DC gobs have shot me with arrows since '99 to my recollection. Not so sure about Oasis goblins.
