trouble extracting patch
 

v34 went smoothly but when i extracted the files for v35 i get:

! C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Local\Temp\P99Files35-1.zip: Cannot create C:\eq p99\dsetup.dll
Access is denied.

i'm confused because i only have one user so it must be administrator right? i use win 8. any ideas?

hrm... was able to just make a backup of dsetup.dll, delete it from my eq folder and then it let me extract the patch no problem.

however when i launch the game it says my client files are out of date.

put that new dll on desktop.

open EQ folder, drag old dll to random folder, drag desktop dll to EQ folder. Or just copy/replace it when dragging from desktop to EQ.

yeah that's pretty much exactly what i was saying i did in my second post there.

my rl buddy had the same problems too. was just yakking with him on skype about it.

what worked was uninstalling/reinstalling/repatching. *shrug* no idea.
