Organizing Sarnak Faction Group

Hey guys,

I'm looking to form a standing group to farm some sarnak faction (Brood of Di'Zok) in Droga/Nurga. With Velious around the corner, the revamped Chardok will add some nice quests that require ally faction with sarnaks. This is also useful for anyone looking to join Chardok AE groups as a puller.

Chardok Revamp quest items:
http://p99.yourfirefly.com/item/spirit_wracked_cord

http://p99.yourfirefly.com/item/regal_band_of_bathezid

I would like to start these around 6pm EST and run them into the night. Depending on the class composition that turns out we can AE (preferable) or just mow stuff down throughout the zone. Would be nice if someone familiar with these zones can come as they would be new to me (especially if we decide to AE).

List so far:
57 Monk
57 Shaman

Best way to do this is get a 50 cleric, 2 level 52+ enchanters, And 4-5 40+ casters. Set up casters in zone. (1 at chief, 1 at each Nurga zone line, others in other densely populated areas). Casters all bind at entrance. Root mob or send pet on mob. Gate to entrance and sit down. Cleric heals each person then sits. Each caster zones or FDs. Then cleric DAs when mobs are near, stun -> AE.

A group of 2-3 level 30-40s was getting around 30-50% experience each per pull if they were allowed to get exp. (IE high levels that want faction just use a low level AE and let the 30-40s do the actual damage). Was pretty rewarding for everyone involved. Except the chanters, they sort of get screwed.

Unfortunately melee are all but useless for this method though.

They also busted it (during the infamous sit aggro patch) so healing/buffing no longer causes faction hits so you have to do damage.

That's classic. Search EQClerics board. Many threads about clerics who only healed not getting faction hits from healing, specifically during Velious cause that's when faction mattered...

But yea, heals shouldn't get you faction hits.

I think this is a great idea, but you should understand that the Chardok revamp is still a very long ways off. As this page shows:

http://wiki.project1999.com/Patch_history

there are four other patches that all come after Velious but before the patch for the Chardok revamp. The devs haven't even started working on the first of those patches, and even once they do each patch will likely take at least half a year, as they all introduce a new zone or re-make an entire existing zone. I don't actually know for sure, but if you divide however many years Velious has taken (6? 8?) by the number of zones I think it works out to something like that.

So realistically IF Velious were released at the very end of this year, you could probably expect the Chardok revamp to in 2017 ... at best.

In case anyone is still interested in this, I try to get in an hour of factioning daily. If you see me in game (Benceman), feel free to tag along in nurga/droga - mostly soloing on my monk at the moment and would welcome any company!
