Black screen when switching 3d programs, any fix yet?
 

Hi, was there ever a fix or workaround to getting a black screen when alt-tabbing or running another 3d program /game while EQ is running?

I usually minimize EQ and bring it back up and it restores itself.

Yeah there is, play in windows mode.

I've heard switching to/from full screen might help.

Can still occur in windows mode if you have another program that utilizes 3d device. Some of my work software causes this when I play at work, and I only play windowed.

Confirmed - happens in windowed mode as well.

What causes the black screen, at least for me, is a program being opened that runs as Administrator why i have EQ up.
Or any type of pop up like the windows 7 administrator thing. It will black out EQ an end up control + alt+Delete just to exit EQ.
Easy fix is don't run any programs as admin why EQ is already opened. An as far as i can tell, you cant play any other game besides EQ (why EQ is up) or you get the black screen or some type of error.
Things like teamspeak/vent that need to be admin ran, open them admin style BEFORE you open EQ.
