Item poof

Last night I had a friend of mine help me with an item transfer. I gave her a bunch of stuff from my friends monk (Carrot) to give to my own alt (Benedetto). We met up in EC and I got 8 items on Benedetto, which meant some of them went into my cursor. I wanted to put the items on and I hit 'U' instead of 'I' by accident, which opened trade with her again and then I hit escape and the screen froze and I got kicked to account log-in. I logged back in and I had 6/8 items with the last two gone.
The two items that poofed were a Diamondine Earring and a Flowing Black Silk Sash.
I hope you can help me out.

They didn't poof. They fell. Welcome to classic.

They didn't fall to the ground, because that's not how it work. I had room for 4 items in my inventory and I have 6 out of the 8 items now. They go on your cursor when you trade stuff and don't have room for them in your inventory.
