Class Epic MQ's: Why are some outrageously priced?

So far from what I've seen it is like this.

Monk epic MQ - FULL = 100k
Rogue epic MQ - FULL = 25-30k
Cleric epic MQ - FULL = 60k

Ranger epic MQ - Shattered Emerald of Corruption 300k, VS stone 250k
Druid epic MQ - Fay water 300k, VS stone 250k

Why are the prices of ranger and druid mq items so rediculously high in price? What makes them so special? I mean, I can only imagine guilds have quite a few of them just lying around. Do they hold on to them out of greed? I feel like every 50+ player on the server should have access to an epic just from what guilds are holding on to.

The thing that blows my mind the most is how they can expect any newer player(less than a year) to be able to afford 500k+ for TWO measley MQ items?

Please don't flame this thread, I would like to hear others thoughts on this topic and what they think a fix could be. Fix being other than waiting until epic mobs are triggerable a few months into Velious.

Partly because your prices aren't completely accurate and partly because some epics are more difficult to obtain than others.

The worst is the monk epic. About as easy as the rogue epic and 4x the price.

Look at the time derivative if you want to feel a little better: A year ago druid epic MQ was advertised at roughly 1 mil!

One can say that isn't a lot of PP tbh.

I was able to afford an MQ worth 30-70k within the first couple months of playing my Druid. If you wan't something in EQ you gotta work for it. This game balances on the fine line of hobby and job.

Bottom line is they're selling for that much because people will pay that much for it, also the amount of effort required to setup the MQ factors into this.

"They" don't expect a newer player(less than a year) to be able to afford it. Epics weren't meant for everyone, unless you were in a raiding guild on live and spent a plethora of time in game you never had a chance to get it done.

I don't think the gods intended MQs to be sold on the street, it was intended for fellow guildies who missed the encounter where ____ dropped.

Basic economic principles?

Really? That is nuts. The only thing I can think of for a solo druid to make plat is by grinding seafuries. That would be roughly 1,000 hours of in game time spent killing them, assuming you had them to yourself for the duration of your time there.

If you have any corrections to what I posted please let me know, I'm curious anyways.

If you think seafuries are a druid's best option for making money, you haven't seen Daldaen post about his leet druid PLing services.

Also, epics aren't really meant for solo people to get in the first place. Join a guild and kill the monsters for your epic and you'll see why some are priced higher than others. Basically, some of them require monsters that are in extremely high demand because they drop a lot of great items and/or the epic drop is a rare one, so there are a ton of guilds competing for those monsters, and they don't spawn often. Others don't require such rare / sought-after mobs. The difference is huge. My main character is a 60 wizard and he's been level 60 for about a year. He doesn't have his epic and I don't expect he will anytime soon. My cleric, rogue, and shaman alts all have their epics and it was pretty easy for all three.

I want to sell you a ragefire heart, demon fangs, etc. I do not want to sell you a vs stone or slime blood. So I price them differently.

Kastro 10-17-2014 11:38 PM

Reroll on RED, Join Holo, Level to 60, do some pvp, get epic. .. ezpz..

Or you can grind seafuries for the next year on blue and buy it...
