Pets and Gate

Gating in the same zone your bound in causes pet to teleport to 0,0... don't think this was the way it worked on live but could be wrong.

Hmm I played a necro for 2 years but I honestly don't remember how this worked. I'm 99% sure the pet didn't port with you, at least not that early in the game's life. I believe it either just poofed, or the caster ported and the pet remained, causing the pet to start wandering towards the owner - and possibly causing a train in the process.

How could one know the exact coordinates of where the pet goes to without some sort of '3rd eye'?

Is that a serious question?

Shouldn't have to explain how I troubleshot this but eh, I'll humor the idiots today.

Always noticed that pet took strange amounts of time to return to you after gating in the same zone you were bound in. Lately I've been camping a few of the nameds in Rathe Mountains, so I bound at the 4 way cross section near Feerrott zone line. Noticed that the pet would come path from the west. Thankfully I had MacroQuest loaded so I could use the hax /loc command and realized the place the pet was pathing from was close to 0,0. Bound next to a mountain that 0,0 would be in, gated, and sure enough pet came running through the mountain. Of course it could be 1,0 or 0,5 or whatever but 0,0 just seems logical!

They should run from wherever they were standing originally. Gate doesn't affect them
