Why aren't innoruuk dark elves allowed in hate?
 

Just sitting here BSing with an old friend about EQ lore when this question popped into my head:Why are all dark elves, even the ones who venerate inny KOS to all things in the plane of hate? How have the dark elf NPC's inhabiting hate not been executed as well? Did they pass some hatred test? If I'm not mistaken Tunare worshiping players can set foot in the plane of growth without being gangbanged by an army of pissed of sprites and shit within the first seconds of arriving. To that end I remember long ago someone talking about dark elves being able to enter hate peacefully, but that the proper faction was taken out in a patch and now all are KOS. Is this true?

Haters gonna hate, that's kinda Inny's thing. Think it reads in the guidebook that Innoruuk's worshippers hate him and he hates them or something. I always assumed planar mobs are supposed to be like otherworldly and sort of godly compared to mortals, the dark elves in Hate are twice the size of regular dark elves methinks. And you're kind of teleporting up there without anyone's consent so don't think they'll be too welcoming.

The lore about these planes are that they're the dreams of the gods, right? And the god you can see and fight is a dream self or avatar. I'd argue that a person who is dreaming does not necessarily have a great deal of rational thought. If I'm the god of hate and I'm dreaming and a bunch of dudes who think they're hot shit show up in my dream out of nowhere, I may well just want them dead without stopping to think "hmm, are they worshipping me?".

Dunno if "dreams" is the right word, but the planes are the manifestations of the consciousnesses of the gods.

Read the Planes of Power atlas book, nerds. The Planes are just pockets of reality carved out for the gods to chill in. They build it how they'd like.
