Help Getting Started
 

First, I'd like to say I'm really excited about this server. I was just reminiscing the other day about my old bard (no other MMO comes close to the EQ bard), but since Luclin was my last live experience I didn't really want to jump into live 20 something expansions later.

That said, I'm having some trouble. As far as I can tell, I've followed all of the instructions on getting started to the letter. I can log in and see the emulated servers, but when I attempt to connect to Project 1999 server, I get booted back to log in.

Any ideas of something obvious I might have overlooked? I'm anxious to start killing wasps and orcs.

Hmmm, not sure if this will help or not but I had the same problem when I first started playing.

My problem involved the file EQUI_CastSpellWnd.xml in the C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\uifiles\default directory. Try redownloading that file and using it. And if that doesn't work, try using the original file.

I'm not sure what could be the problem, if you ca't even get to char select screen. Are you on the same IP as a friend / relative? There is an IP block to prevent 2 boxing on the server, so if you are trying to play with someone you have to get the ip exemption from petition forum. Otherwise i do not know.
