I noticed you didn't mention ALS in your post.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is the progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death.
By the year 2025, one in every 25 American adults will be diagnosed with ALS, Parkinson’s, or Alzheimer’s. Experts agree that unless we declare war on ALS, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s, these neurodegenerative diseases, as they are known, will become a global health crisis.
