Rathe Mountains Giants - bugged or needed?
I just took my mage to the Rathe Mountains for some good ol giant killing like the good ol days and I found 2 guys in there camping a giant spawn and almost no giants anywhere.The true classic version had the Rathe Mountains crawling with giants and players almost all the time and it was a blast! There was good exp. and good pp to be had, as it was one of the best mid level spots in the game. Now it's a shadow of it's former self and seems like another ghost town zone; a giant place without much going on. Is that intended? - or is it a bug? If it's intended it's a shame from my point of view - for it was one of my very favorite spots in all of my EQ experience early on and is not at all what the classic game rendered.

This needs moved out of velious bugs.
My two cents.. I do recall having at least 8 hill giants up in rathe on alkabor since I could gather them twice to quad kite before respawns. |
I was there a few weeks ago and saw lots of hill giants. Kill all the roaming mobs in the area, as I think they can all repop as HGs.

Just kill all the roamers around the hill mate. They are mostly all PHs

On Mac, as Telin said, there were 8, never was a PHer. Either Hill Giant or Tainted Hill Giant every spawn.

There are currently 6 possible spawns. None of the hill giants have phs other than some can spawn a Tainted/Broog.

Has RM changed on live? If not it would be interesting to count the spawns there.
