Did the PoS quest fixes get pushed to live somehow? Cause that quest shouldnt use the nebulous sapphire but a black nebulous sapphire in the next patch. It's on one of these pages in a thread started by Dald.

Pretty sure this is the case. Since the script folder is shared, updates to a few quests could now be live. Relevant perl changes that should appear in the next news and announcements thread, but are now live:

nilbog-Test-Quests- 'Bandages of Honeybugger' quest gives less faction penalty to the Tradefolk Underground.
nilbog-Test-Quests- 'Deathfist Belts' evil version no longer gives negative hits to SteelWarriors.
nilbog-Test-Quests- Enchanter 'Test of Disillusion' now requires Black Nebulous Sapphire
nilbog-Test-Quests- 'Karana Clovers' quest now results in more varied rewards.

So does this mean the quest was changed but the black nebulous sapphire that is now needed isnt dropping yet? So quest is basically broken til a actual patch?

Sounds like it... Weekend patch is in our future I thinks?

Sirken created this bug post for me (Thanks, Sirken!) when I discovered it by trying to turn in the items that the NPC told me to turn in.

Sirken gave me back the quest items, but if I'm reading this post correctly, it's saying that I can't complete this quest until the next patch and even then I won't have the right item to do so.

Will my Nebulous Sapphire transform into a Black Nebulous Sapphire so that I can complete the quest, or will I be able to petition for it to change into the Black Nebulous Sapphire? Otherwise, I'm getting screwed by the timing of the accidental partial merge. :(

That isn't the point. That's like saying we should convert all of those reward earrings back to the original items people turned in and let them re-farm Sky (or find someone to trade with) to get the correct piece. That wouldn't be fair to them, and that's basically what is happening to me.

The new piece that will be required has never dropped on the server because it wasn't in the loot tables, so the demand will be much higher than the old piece. So, now instead of just being able to complete the quest, I'll have the added cost of obtaining the new drop (through either an indeterminate amount of time on Sky raids or plat) plus the cost of going to Sky to turn in the quest.
