PCI SCSI Controller card just wondered if a scsi drive would match a sata drive for transfer rates? never tried a scsi drive inthe past, as they used to be just for servers. cant see a card that does more than 40mb/sec?? (transfer rate) anything over 75mb/sec is worth looking at....100+ desirable eBay item number: 221376842646 reasonable drive, but pointless if the controller card only allows 40mb/sec speeds! <pc cant accept pci-e cards> |

nm) http://alatest.com/reviews/network-i...,111/#overview can upgrade the pc to accept sata 2 hdd. Not sure in practice what the transfer rate will come out as.... |

Sata 2 should be backwards comparable with sata 1 motherboards. And you really don't want a 15k rpm SCSI drive in your machine, lol |

`Sata 2 should be backwards comparable with sata 1 motherboards.` true, although my pc froze up when i put in a 250gb sata 2 drive. think its didnt like the size of the drive , more than the sata controller; have had a 160gig sata 2 workingon this pc. `15k rpm SCSI drive ` runs too hot? or just noisey? i have no exp of these drives tbh. (scsi)ALways been to expensive int he past. |

they're loud and can be expensive once you factor in a decent controller that doesn't suck |
