There were 2 very active dupes when P99 launched. I was nice enough to inform fat head Rogaine about one of them. The crux from what I remember was you could copy an entire slot in the shared bank by adding too many items (or bags) and then logging out with it on your cursor to character select, while using a proxy to log in to the same account and selecting another character (details could be wrong, its been many years). I was also the first player banned on P99 after launch for making fun of staff in OOC. The ironic part about that was I was speedhack kiting with a group of players in EC during this and had a whole bank full of plat bars from duping. Only came back for Red99 launch, which was also promptly run into the ground by staff mismanagement. Hope that answers any questions you have.

PS Wipe red99 or give us the source code so we can host our own server, u fat bastard.

Can we get some Sundawg epics if it gets a reset? ;)

Iirc the guy who tried to turn in this exploit also got banned. Was chain duping diamonds / blue diamonds / plat bars. Then of course there's internode :p

i found a way to dupe coins once, but it was only a visual glitch and didnt affect real total currency~!

development is not done, so it would be silly to reset the game until its complete. many players would leave, and there would probably need to be another wipe down the line somewhere.

what needs to happen, is the dev team should hire some programmers who will do this as their ACTUAL JOB.. instead of this volunteer nonsense that is going on.

Yes, this is a great idea! Let's march right up to San Diego and take back programmers from Blizz/SOE and offer them no pay in return for working on a 15 year old elf simulator! Their paychecks they are currently getting pale in comparison!

...or you could do things because you like to do them, which is what the current projects do. Because the moment you start paying programmers is when it gets into the not-so-legal side of emulators.

And regards to this... I'll be talking about it on Sirken's stream on Monday as it involves something nilbog and I talked about privately (and nilbog has given me permission to talk about publicly)

a_gnoll_pup 07-13-2014 07:13 PM

and no, it isn't a wipe, or me coming back to the staff. before anyone asks.
