big guys in unrest
Hi all, I am plying a troll shaman and went to unrest for the first time last night and found that I can't stand up much of the time to cast and can't shrink. I don't have nor can afford shrink potions at this point. Any advice on how to function as a big guy in unrest, with the catch 22 of not being able to cast/escape (even with sow) when BIG - and can't shrink because it's "outdoors" - (even though most of it does not appear as such), would be appreciated.

Shared Wolf Form is about your only option. But I think Shrink should work in dungeons flagged outdoors. There's been some debate on it though no definitive proof leading to a fix on Shrinking.

So, it seems, for the most part, Unrest is a "small guy" mostly space - for with the indoor/outdoor shrink issue, large races are pretty much mostly limited, at best, to a group in a room that alows head space, and escaping when the excrement hits the fan, is not an option. If I were in a position to do so, I most certainly would change that - just because it appears to be unique relative to the overall game. There really isn't a logical reason for it except that "it's just the way it turned out".
Sometimes that is the most logical reason of all - for those without power to change. |
I don't think the Unrest mansion was made by ogres or trolls, so it makes sense that the hallways and doors aren't big people sized.
But besides that, I took my ogre war and my ogre shaman to unrest for a few levels each character and had fun being so comically big in those tiny hallways. |

That being said, Unrest is totally doable as a large race, as long as you're not the puller. The main camps are the yard (10-14ish), which is outdoors; the main room (15-20ish) which has a high ceiling; and the fireplace (20-30ish) which also has a high ceiling. The only real issue you'd have is trying to run when shit hits the fan, and as a shaman you can just gate when that happens, if you bind outside, which absolves you from the need to run through some narrow corridors. You can also probably avoid having a ton of aggro on you most of the time, even when things get dicey, since you're pretty much on heal duty at your level - so you can take your time running away when you need to since the monsters probably won't be beating on you all that much. |
need to use shrink potions (ants legs) for outdoor zones
