What is campable and what isn't

I was always under the the impression that in general outdoor mobs aren't campable. Especially roaming mobs that spawn all over the place. Examples I can think of would be spiroc, sefuries, ulthork, cougars(in Iceclad), wyvern (in CS), mammoths in Everfrost? Am I wrong here? What is campable and what isn't? Whats the general consensus? It amazes me how overcamped everything is with only 1000 people on the server. I actually think I'm doing playing until velious comes out and there are a lot more good outdoor camps that should eliminate most of the contested spawn drama.

Can camp anything as long as you are sitting right on its spawn point.

Let me guess...sarnak courier?

Nope Mammoths. I pulled a mammoth that was roaming in Everfrost and was yelled at because it was "camped". Just general xp mammoths.

To be slightly more fair and precise I was quading mammoths and it was actually the first one I pulled.

Well to be a little more clear, a player cannot say that they are camping all mammoths north of the river or whatever, but they can sit right on one spawn point and say that they are camping that specific mammoth spawn.

Don't be lawyered off any mobs like that. Do a camp check whenever you zone in though, see what people are up to :p

Do roaming mobs have static spawn points that can be camped? Either way mob was spawned and un-aggroed and I didn't see him, but he was obviously in the general area if he saw me pull it. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good place to quad as a level 30 wizard that won't be contested. I just don't want drama every time I try to pull mobs I have enough drama to deal with in RL. I realize mammoths are contested somewhat because the tusks are decent plat, but it doesn't seem like there are all that many places to quad in that level range. Plat is obviously a big plus since I have a total of 500p to my name, but I am more concerned with leveling.

Assuming he was sitting on the spawn point for that mammoth, he can't really claim it if he's let it wander off and isn't anywhere to be seen.

Sirken 05-31-2014 01:13 PM

Swish is right, a player can only claim a mob like a mammoth or seafury by sitting on the spawn and tagging it as soon as it spawns.

as far as kiting, if u have more than 4 mobs , you are being greedy and no one will get in trouble for peeling that 5th mob off your kite.

Unless you're a bard right? Cause bards can kite the whole zone uncontested right?
