Paladin Question

So I keep getting the urge to re-make my Paladin from live. I already have him created and my name (Arazus) but I can't bring myself to use any pp to get him some gear and level him. It was the very first class I ever played on Live and I like playing Paladins. So I guess I just wanted to ask if anyone has any gear advice for a starting Paladin, I have built up about 1.2k for gear.

I have read the 1k twink guide on the wiki but I feel like there is still other options in regards to gear. Any advice would be helpful, plus I feel like being a tank (although one with a xp penalty) would be fun again. I had my 32 paladin Arazus on live and a 55 warrior, I always liked having a useful role in a group, just don't feel that as much with the mage. Anyways, thanks in advance for any tips.

sword of skyfire, two plat fire wedding rings, baton of faith at 20, deepwater armor.

this game was meant to be played by idiots with cloth and dwarven axes until mid 20s, you'll be fine.

Personally, as a Paladin, I think that armor of Ro would be a better option at low levels than Deepwater would be. Deepwater has great AC, but has no stats. All the quested armors that replaced Rubicite were designed to round out stats and resists a bit. Hell, even at 30, my Paladin is rockin' a set of Ro armor and a Baton of Faith for 2 hander, Ghoulbane and Cracked Darkwood Shield for 1hander. Need a faster 1hander, but GB is great on the undead.

Now, at slightly higher levels when you have access to better non-visible slot items, then Deepwater would be a more viable option. Hell, on live during Velious mine had Crustacean Shell BP, Legs and Arms with Deepwater Helm, Bracers, Boots and Gaunts. but then you also had Orc Fang earrings etc for non-visibles.

Just my 2cp!

Buy a runed oak bow. You can 1-shot mobs in newbie yard and kite red cons around by strafing. Killed orc trainer with my lvl 5 pally today. Affordable and fast way to level up early on. Just load up on cheap 9cp arrows.

Two plat fire wedding rings, full bronze, baton of faith, and the last 200-300p go for really whatever, +HP items are never bad. I would probably just hold on to the rest though. I leveled my paladin up this way to 40 before I actually decked her out with good lewtz. 90% of that was solo mind you, so that says something.
