Root rot - 1 or 2 dots?

I just got to level 29 on my druid.
I know I can charm kill efficiently, but I enjoy the relaxing way of root rotting one mob at a time.

But now at level 29 I have 2 good dots (swarm and fire). Should I stick to 1 or use both? It is not so mana efficient to use 2, but I kill faster of course.

What do other druids do?

dont use 2, youll run out of mana much faster esp if you get some resists

if anything you should just focus on charm killing as the EXP is much faster and more mana efficient

there are several posts on this very forum about areas and tactics with how druids charm kill

check out the first link, its a charming guide built for around your level, well the later part

I almost never use two DoT when I root rot on my Druid. Unless you include Drones of Doom clicky...

The fire DoT at higher levels is vastly more efficient than the magic DoT. At your level the magic and fire are pretty equal.

However if you are root rotting that tells you you want to do stuff for 2-3 min and then AFK for 10 min waiting on respawns/mana while you do RL stuff around the house etc. Which means go ahead and be inefficient to kill faster then just have more downtime to do more RL stuff.

If you are at the computer the entire time you're playing, charm kill.

Root also costs mana. So root/rotting with only 1 dot hurts your mana efficiency due to excessive mana used for roots. Go with 2 dots.

One thing that makes druids fun to solo is they have so many options for killing: charm, quad, root rot, root nuke, kite and nuke, etc.
Sure charm is the most efficient but sometimes you wanna do different stuff, so root rot away OP.
What other class has so many options to kill things?
As overpowered as shammies can be everytime I watch them solo it looks sooo boring.

I'm pretty sure the op said that he is aware of the speed of charm kiting.

Thanks for all the replies :)
Yes I think I will stick to just using 1 dot.

I know how to charm kill, I have been doing that since oasis on crocs there, but sometimes there are not enough mobs to do so, or maybe I just feel like sitting back and watch animals slowly die sometimes (Oh my that sounded worse than intended haha). Charm can be too unreliable too for my liking.

I have found this to be true in my case as well. I like charm kiting, and I will definitely make use of it in later levels. But as a lvl 16 it seems a little too inconsistent for me. I know root rotting and kiting have more down time, but I kinda feel like the consistency of them over charming makes up for it at my level.
