OOC Currently Bugged

We are aware of the problem, and hoping to put out a fix soon.

For right now, OOC is basically functioning like it was before the patch. A few zones are unable to globally communicate (notably, Cabilis east :( )

Please try to keep OOC clean while we fix the problem. Happy to see a bunch of new faces around today - and we haven't even started the events/advertising!

While there are still people using ooc as a public forum for their personal disputes, it has shown a remarkable improvement overall in reducing the stupid arguments. I don't think anything will ever stop people from making public spectacles of themselves. Someone will always want attention, praise, conflict or anything else that can affect how others think of them.

I know I do not speak in ooc often, if at all, but I do use it constantly as a way of finding those who need help. I've made spells for dozens and dozens of people (mostly necros) and almost every one of them I found because they were asking about Words or Spells in ooc. I send them a tell and usually wind up hooking them up with every research spell, or almost every one, that they will need in the future.
I know others use it in much the same way and losing the ability to keep in touch with those needing assistance will have a detrimental effect that is impossible to accurately measure.

I truly and genuinely enjoy helping people, and being able to do it is what I like most about this server. Others must feel the same way because I have met and talked to people they have helped, especially in the last couple weeks.
If it weren't for the existence of global ooc I know a good number of people that would have quit long ago because no one would have helped them or even known they needed it. I am not guessing at that either, as many of them have outright told me that they would have quit if not for my help.
I can only imagine how many players have stayed because of the kindness and generosity of others. Probably not as many as have quit because of the toxic bitchfights in ooc, but it is enough to at least give serious consideration to what might be lost without global ooc or some way to talk to people outside your current zone.

With the toxic conversations/arguments reducing in volume, especially compared to 6 months to a year ago, the Pros and Cons of the global system are much closer to being balanced and I hope that is examined thoroughly before the bug is fixed.

I know this post is likely to be ignored or completely disregarded because screaming and tantrums are more noticable than quiet sincerity, but please don't assume silence means indifference or that we do not care about anything other than ourselves.
Only a fraction of the population reads the forums and even less actually want to deal with forum trolls and repetitive childish exchanges that dominate something like half of all the topics, maybe more.

TL;DR: Please give consideration to those who have used ooc to benefit the server. Some way for those needing a hand to find those willing to offer one would be highly beneficial to the server. We cannot help one another if we have no way to communicate ingame. PVP can exist regardless, but compassion requires words.
