Want to make Classic EQ more challenging?
 

After logging in, hit alt+o, then disable npc names.
After this, hit F10 to disable your UI... have fun!

Then how will you read what an NPC says?

You don't! you just assume that they're talking crap about your race / class / status, and hit 'a' or whatever you have assigned to auto-attack...

I did say it was supposed to be challenging, no?

Well shit why not just turn your monitor off, and unplug your keyboard and instead use the mouse to control everything?

Why not just be a warrior and go through the whole game naked with only your fists to keep aggro?

Why not be a caster and not memorize any spells?

That doesn't make Everquest challenging, it makes it pointless.
I can guarantee you no one will do this.

actually kind of intriguing, tho i'd say filter all channels except say and keep the text window (can you turn off tell?) and only expose the gem bar when memming a spell.
