Viability of Obtaining Epic
 

Hello fellow P99'ers!

I have played EQ on and off since the initial release and am happy to join the P99 community as of a couple of months ago. I play a level 35 necro and I just recently joined a leveling guild with the majority of its members in the 35-50 range.

Having never been a serious raider in EQ, I would like to inquire about the difficulty of completing the necro epic on P99, specifically with regard to killing CT and Innoruuk. I have read the new raiding rules and my guild is currently neither C nor R class, obviously.

Is it essentially necessary to be in a C or R class guild to have a chance at one of these encounters? Furthermore, are the chances of obtaining one of the needed drops so low that most level 60 necro do not have their epic? I apologize for my ignorance, but I am just trying to adjust my expectations to the reality of the server.

Side question: I read that these items also drop off of mini-bosses or alternate raid targets post-revamp. Is p99 currently post-revamp or pre-revamp in this regard?

The re-vamp hasn't happened here and I'm not sure if it does, someone else will have to make that comment.

I don't see your guild or any guild really other than top dogs getting CT. Innoruuk however Taken has sneaked in some kills as well as others I believe.

I don't want to sound rude, but until a revamp you really don't have a chance seeing your Epic as a Necromancer on this server, unless you have about 400-600k for MQ's.

The revamp is supposed to happen 4 months into velious. After the revamp, the golems drop old CT loot.

Every R guild can kill/kills CT

Join a C or R class guild and you will get your epic.......someday.

Good Point. Either way the Necromancer class epic requires a good guild to get/obtain some of the pieces. The drops can be rare for those pieces, then on top of that you are competing against every other necromancer in your guild that is 60 and been actively in the guild for more time than you.

It's not the end of the world... Necro's are amazing without epics. I don't care if I ever end up getting one on mine.

Necro epic is probably the hardest epic to obtain on the server currently due to drops from 2 contested planar gods and PoSky.

As mentioned above, revamp to planes is 4 months into Velious.

Slime Blood can drop off CT + Golems post revamp
Eye of Inny can drop off Inny + Minis post revamp

You'll be 60 before you get epic. Unless you wait 3 years and purposefully sac yourself or some such nonsense.

Any of those guilds will have a few necros at least already waiting...its a tragic bottleneck :/
