Snow Griffin Egg, Eastern Wastes

I remember this being a pretty rare drop for the prayer shawl quest but ive killed over 40 Snow Griffins without one egg dropping and have had other people tell me they have killed lots with no eggs seen.

Nastinate 03-05-2014 12:51 AM

killed another 20+ giving up for now either broken or super rare /shrug

Unidus 03-05-2014 01:17 AM

Sounds broken to me.

BattleToad 03-05-2014 11:46 AM

Also have not seen a single Snow Griffon egg drop.

Eggs were usually pretty common. Something like a 25% drop rate from my recollection.

Magelo shows a 25% drop rate. http://eq.magelo.com/item/1429/Snow-Griffin-Egg#dropped

Mobs are level 35-39. Are rangers, can cast. The eggs are the only item of value on them, and are needed for 3rd Coldain Prayer Shawl Quest.

Egg drop rate approximatly 1 in 4

If you combine 4 Griffin Eggs, and spices in a mixing bowl (trivial at 128) you can MQ this item for the shawl quest. Alot of people will pay for MQ rights.

Snow Griffs and their eggs are a great big pain in the patoot to find. They are rare to begin with, and can be extremely rare because of folks after them for this quest. They are No Drop, so you cannot buy them or have someone else collect em. The griffs are said to hang out a little more often around the orc fort, although I've found them in the area around the bridge too. When I did this part, my tracker and I found the Elder Griffin and each time we killed him he immediately respawned within druid tracking range and we ran and killed him again. I'd say maybe one in every three or four griffs drops an egg. The souffle is trivial at less than 127, but this is definitely harder than the previous recipes. Make sure that you do not stack the eggs in the oven, they must be in separate spaces in order to successfully combine. I am told that "griffon eggs" drop or are foraged in other zones, but the only ones that work for this quest drop from the snow griffs in East Wastes.

Fixed, pending update.

It is currently around 7%, bumping it up to > 20%.

Daldaen 03-05-2014 01:28 PM

25-33% sounds like he actual. Hope we are putting it within that range.
