Spell gems
 

Hi, my wife Cheryl has had an issue for the last week or so that seems to coincide with the 8-2 patch. Whenever she hovers her mouse over the spell gems it doesn't show her what the spell is. I've applied the eqchangesv3 file to both of our computers.

I also tried copying my entire eq folder to her computer and it still does it. Any ideas on getting the hover over spells thing to work?

Nope, that didn't work either. Yeah Alt works great. :) She will not be pleased. :O

It may be controlled by the client, but it CAN be switched on/off somehow, but don't ask me how.

I had this happen to me too, and it drove me nearly insane ... tried everything posted in here, backing up this and that, restarting pc, clean install eq ... nothing helped ... so i finally gave in, and accepted my loss..

Then suddenly 1 day after a patch the mouseover buff timer was back again, so it IS something that is getting borked up when they/you patch. It's aparently not something that is happening for everyone, so it IS a little strange, and since a clean install and redownload of the newest p99 changes isn't fixing it either, it's kinda hard to tell what is trigging it.

Thanks for the info it does seem odd how it just broke itself. I really thought a reboot would fix it when she told me what was happening, but no dice. She's overdue for an OS reload anyway so I may do that when I get the time and find my XP cd. :)
