Warrior Weapons
 

Hey everyone, thinking about playing a warrior in my off time. What are some of the BEST weapons under 40k that I can get for the leveling process? For Solo and Group.

Right now I have: (For Grouping)

2x SSoY
2x Obsidan Shard
1x Sarnak Hammer
1x Whip of Snaring

What should I get for soloing up from level 1?

PGT still good early? Lamentations? Etc? And a couple good 2 handers.

Axe of the Slayers is kinda fun at 30 when it procs (think of it as the PGT's bigger 2handed brother). If you have decent dex it should pad your tanking enough to help you solo centaurs, mammoths n gnolls.

Honestly, in the days of so many cheap kunark weapons, I found obsidian shards to be awful.

Well what all weapons do you recommend?

1-10, jade mace
11-20, nathsar great sword or poison wind censer
21-45, staff of battle
46+, sarnak warhammer + silken whip of ensnaring

You should be able to get all these except the staff of battle and sarnak warhammer at low cost.

I don't know what your price range is, but here are some cheap ones that I used up to level 50:

- LVL 1-37--PRIMARY Sword of Skyfire (10/22) SECONDARY:Green Jade Broadsword (11/25)
- LVL 37-45 PRI/SEC Short Sword of the Ykesha (8/24) or Ykeshan War Club 9/24 (both have 75dd proc, yet the YWC is cheaper but procs at 40)

After this point weapons will get a lil' bit more pricey, but the low delay and higher proc rates are req'd to hold agro better in group settings:

LVL 46+ PRI/SEC Blood Point 10/21 procs at lvl 50 (2.5k) or Sarnak Warhammer 9/20 procs at 46 (5k).

dual wield sucks for damage and aggro from 13-46. mobs at that level just don't live long enough to rely on procs for aggro, and the damage from staff of battle will serve you and your group better. Four years ago, when everyone had classic (non-kunark) gear, mobs lived longer and things like obsidian shards were great. Now, they suck. Go dmg until you are 46+ and mobs live long enough / you can afford high dmg proc weapons.

Is a good alternative to the Staff of Battle if money is tight (SOB is pretty cheap but I can see a level 30 having issues raising 1k, especially when they'd be wanting to pick up their 5ac/55hp rings by then if they hadn't already.)

That hammer runs 100pp not 1k. And talk about a super long delay, I think that would bore me to death until I was 30+ for the bigger hits.

You might be able to get a Scimitar of Ykesha on rot in Kithicor Forest. 8/22 is an okay ratio and has the same proc as SSoY. The Kunzar Ku'juch is also an 8/22 and procs a 11 point DoT/snare (which is also okay aggro).

I think he meant the staff of battle runs for 1k and the sarnak battle hammer is a cheaper alternative (as you say ~100pp)... You'll sometimes see a SBH on merchant for 20pp.
