natty is always a sure thang but if im gonna drop 1500 on video cards i want to get the most out of it ya know..do not look to replace or upgrade fer like 5 years unless it breaks.

been torn on what to do tho

I think you're overspending on video cards if you're spending $1500. That's excessive even for a hardcore gamer who actually plays games that came out recently.

Bardalicious 02-20-2014 11:47 AM

I've been using the same vid card for the past 4+ years and still run new gen games fine. If you hesitate about technology upgrades, you'd never actually buy anything because the next big thing is always around the corner. Just the nature of the beast.

Typically you won't need to spend nearly that much money on a GPU if you're just using the machine for gaming. Probably cheaper to wait til the newer model comes out and then buy the ones you're looking at now.

Rellapse36 02-20-2014 11:48 AM

The 780 Ti's are like 700 dollars each @ newegg
I figure the 800 series will probably close to 900 each when they first come out.

The last time I built a desktop was 7 years ago top Video card at that time was only 350 bucks. Shit has changed.

So i do not look at it as overspending if computers/games are what I enjoy spending a few grand one time every 5-6 years is cheaper than a lot of other hobbies nawmean
