Its decent face MR at 5... considering crafted diamond masks are only 3 MR, which is what most use I imagine. Plus the 15 mana makes it somewhat competitive for a caster mask, especially as part of an MR set.

Sadly http://wiki.project1999.com/Lizardskin_Tribal_Mask really makes the spectacles lose out on their unique niche (having 5 or more MR on face) :(
