Buying Laptop: Best Value for P1999?
Buying a laptop for gf's bday/valentines day... Want to be able to run EQ while im over there. I'm a big fan of i5 CPU's, but i only know PC, not laptop. Would i be losing anything (on laptop) if i dropped down to i3? I imagine there are probably other factors that are going to bottleneck play before the CPU (shit video card mainly)
Any recomendations? Looking to spend like $300-$400 |

If EQ is your ONLY concern, gaming wise, anything new today will do. Just find something you can afford from a good manufacturer and then upgrade it to 6gb ram (8gb preferably).

Any laptop made in the last 10 years that has a screen bigger then 14 inches should be able to run EQ with no problem

Just don't forget the Titanium client is from 2006 =P

I'd recommend going AMD for the laptop, especially at the price point youre looking at. I went intel for mine cuz I thought intel hd integrated graphics were all the rage, but it turned out the same model laptop as mine but the amd version was (unsurprisingly) like 9000x better for gaming benchmarks

Get her some jewelry and be a hero, you know your buying that laptop so you can play video games.
Btw good deal on woot.com right now |
Just make sure there is no intel graphics card. They put them in almost all new computers. As long as the graphics card is nvidia or amd you will be fine on everquest. CPU does not matter too much.
