Unable to play in full screen mode after patch
 

When I try to switch to full screen mode, I crash. This did not happen prior to the newest patch.

Any thoughts?

I just started here, but no matter what the game keeps pushing me to a window then crashing. Sounds like it might be related to this post.

Nobody has a fix yet I guess =/

Likely not enough info to go on. I fixed mine by moving my install from MacOS to Win8. Sucks to use windows, but it helped.

Someone else posted this in another thread and it worked for me

While in EQ.
Open your Options.
Goto Graphics/Display tab.
Change to Full Screen.
Select Video mode, and select the mode you are currently or wanting to use in Full Screen.
Click Accept.

Now when playing in full screen your game shouldn't minimise and revert back to a windowed display mode when clicking on certain areas of the full screen.

Edit: Tabbing out of the game to another window will cause the effect of minimising to happen again, so once back in full screen, repeat the above.

edit eqclient.ini file and set windowed and fullscreen resolution manually to screen size.

I am having this problem as well - I have attempted to edit my eqclient.ini file -- windowed mode works fine but if I hit alt+enter or click fullscreen mode the game still crashes.... Anyone have any additional details on ways to fix this?? really don't like windowed mode

Also - The game log-in and loading screen work fine in full screen - but when it gets to character select it reverts back to windowed mode, and when I try to full screen from here, or while in the game - crash.
