The real reason why Teams would boost server pop

If you wanted to hear a logical argument you've come to the right place.

People don't like to be scared.

When you start playing right now on R99 you are alone. Everyone is your enemy.

That's scary.

If there were teams, then you would have allies who have an incentive to work together with you for their own success.

That's less scary.

Conclusion = Less Scary = More people.

I hate teams but agree. Main thing is that it gives new players from eqmac a chance to begin a server fresh..which they haven't done since eqmac release which o think began in kunark??

I'd definitely ditch r99 for fun new server

pity reply for an idiot dumb enough to believe another server was coming.

You know what, i went into that new dark age of camelot server all naive, thinking this would be sort of a teams server. Theres 3 factions and taking keeps from the other factions helps everyone on your faction right? Wrong.

A good portion of the pop is in it for themselves. So they wont say where they are attacking keeps, wont have you in their group, presumably because by leveling up fast they can then be more desirable to groups.

So even at face value, when i accepted that teams would inevitably mean people working together, teams server is a hard one to pull off because of population balance. But having seen a team game where working together for the faction isnt a given, i cant imagine what kind of cesspool it would mean with the sort of players that red attracted.

Your totally right tradesonred.

Eq teams always been dumb. I just want a new server and with item loot.

Plus I'd be on the crappiest underdog team to have max targets or whatever.

Just having a group of people that you know can never attack you would maybe be nice for noons
I think it might get way bad for end game when the most powerful team has two guilds wanting the same raid targets.

But that's why you gotta have item loot too so there is just a ton of reason to get into fights.

invalid and unsound.

How is red scary? Literally no pvp until 40s unless you are an idiot and battle fungi twinks in unrest. If you see anyone your level that isn't a think made specifically for pvp there is a 95% chance that person is as lonely as you are and just looking to group for their first time on the box.

I'm from eqmac and the worst part about red is being new to pvp and not having a chance to practice because I couldn't find anyone to pvp at lower levels (besides insane twinks) now I'm in 40s and have no clue what I'm doing in pvp. Still going hard in the paint tho.

You didnt miss anything anyway. Even when there was people to PvP, you were gonna eat alot of deaths as a newb from the vets before u figure out what works or not. That means alot of xp grind backlog if you have any interest in taking time to PVP along the way and not rush to the top. People say xp loss was a non-factor but it made the server boring as fuck where most people did not want to die so didnt pvp. Nothing like Rallos.

Should have been item loot, FFA no xp loss, with patched in custom nodrop sets to lessen the harshness of item loot, sorta like the halloween 2001 set loot, like i suggested a million times back when i gave a fuck.
