Music to grind xp to - I like my armor black, like my metal.

Hey all, just curious what y'all listen to when playing classic EQ.

I find myself drawn to music I actually listened to at the time, which means lots of late 90s industrial and metal. It feels like coming home. In my case, a lot of the following:

Stabbing Westward - All of it.
Filter - Title of Record, among others.
Rammstein - All of it.
Wumpscut - because of This fucking video

And then there's the experimental stuff that has nothing to do with nostalgia but fits the game anyway... lots of EBM, darkwave and industrial.
Mechanical Moth
Mantus - Abschied
Combichrist - Give head if you got it
Unterart - Perfect World

So, post those sweet-ass tunes!

I've actually been listening to piano jazz on Songza while I play. Game is so relaxing now.

If you're a Stabbing Westward fan, did you know that Chris Hall (the lead singer) has a new band called The Dreaming? They're not the same, but are still pretty similar to SW.

*EDIT* Oh yeah and Nightwish is perfect EQ music if you want some power metal with a fantasy theme.

First off, anything by The Avalanches. Since I Left You and Frontier Psychiatrist are too damn good. Plus, their music is made entirely of clipping together something like 3000 different vinyl albums, and altering each sound to fit what they need. Brilliant stuff.

Royksopp is great for just about anything. Songs like Poor Leno, What Else Is There, Happy Up Here, and Royksopp Forever all have a solid gaming groove.

And of course, Gorillaz. Stylo, Dare (Junior Sanchez Remix), Doncamatic, and El Manana, all fantastic pieces of music.

Lastly, I'd be remiss to leave out one of my favorites, Massive Attack, with Unfinished Sympathy, Protection, Dissolved Girl, and Safe from Harm.

http://www.rainymood.com/, Mostly.

But for songs that remind me of classes:

Troll Shaman No explanation needed.

Wood Elf Ranger This song is pretty much written about a ranger.

Dark Elf ShadowKnight Evil.

Half Elf Bard Because bards.

Human Rogue The guitars in this song remind me of stabbing, also the lyrics about stabbing.

Human Paladin Chorus sounds like a metal church hymn.

Dark Elf Necromancer One of the most haunting and eerie songs about death I've ever heard. Written by a murderer/church-arsonist.

Barbarian Warrior Because bro-core.

High Elf Cleric Lol.

Wood Elf Druid It's hard to listen to this band without feeling like you're lost in a forest...and you're going to die.

Actually yes :) The Dreaming is quite good and in the same spirit of it imo.
