Can't log in after v31 patch
 

Ok, I'm having problems after this patch. I have gotten as far as the character select screen but can't log in. I have one specific question I need answered if someone would help me.

When I was looking around I noticed that within my everquest folder there is a file <eqchangesv21>. Ok, should that be there? Should I delete it? The thing is it's been there since 2012 so it seems like if it was causing some problem it would have come up before this. But I don't know. I'm an idiot with this stuff.

Edit: I pulled that v21 file out of my EQ files and set it on the desktop. I tried to log in about 3 times and finally got one of my guys logged in. Haven't done anything with him yet. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm like a monkey banging at a car engine. If I did something right it was pure luck.

Failing everything else there's always the option of a clean install. Did you definitely extract the v31 files in the right place etc?

Yes, and to update it I'm in the game and playing now but I don't understand why unless pulling that v21 file out actually helped.

Probably a meaningless connectivity issue that has nothing at all to do with that old 2012 patch zip file.
