shaman race for a duo with an enchanter
 

i know. i know. another one of these threads. this is for a duo with an enchanter

it seems that when it's for a solo shaman situation, there is no consensus at all


disregard looks. i love purple troll eyes, ginormous ogres that take up a hallway, lizards that squat while sitting and over sized barbarian breasts

disregard speed of leveling (exp penalty %, benefits from regeneration while leveling)

disregard banking, vendoring, and other conveniences



Would an ogre's melee bash stun immunity be a greater asset than natural regeneration (especially with velious's crazy large mob HP pools) ?

This is similar to a thread contemplating the best race for a soloing shaman, if you want to look for that.

yup, I already read every shaman race thread but I was interested in seeing if troll/iksar regen efficiency > stun immunity for enchanter/shaman duo

Race isn't a huge deal and there will be zero noticeable difference in efficiency between any shaman race.

Not going Iksar means you can get JBB for free nukes while Enc pet tanks.

But even for most min-maxers I don't think any one race is going to shine over another. Pick the one with the character model you think you'll be able to live with for the next 60 levels.

Barbs get all the best armor.

Can wear Jaundiced Bone AND Jasarth Scale (20hp 20mana gloves, 5wis legs, massive AC on everything -- plus pretty much free if you just pop into KC).

Oh, and this little thing called Barbarian Spiritist's Hammer. Not sure if you heard about that yet.

But, in all honesty, Shaman is one of the rare classes where there is really no clear favorite race and pretty much any choice will be good. However, Derubael will tell you to be Iksar; because, according to him, Iksars make the best Shamans, Warriors, Paladins, Shadow Knights, Clerics, Druids, Bards, Monks, Rangers, Rogues, Enchanters, Magicians, Necromancers, and Wizards.

Doh. Of course Iksars are superior, everybody knows that! Velious will come out soon and the gear restrictions will disappear, but regen+ac bonus will stay plus you look lika da fucking BOSS!

Iksar > ALL :cool:
