Monk Starting Stats
Ok guys,
After camping a great Iksar name last night, I have some questions about ability points. I dumped everything into STA. My thinking was that STR should be easy to get and I read somewhere where it was said that it was easy to cap with gear and buffs. I want to group and do monkly things like pulling. Am I way off here? Do I need to re-roll this guy? I just made him last night and he is level 1 so its not a big thing. I just don't want to regret my stat distribution later on. I have about 700p but scrounging up 1-2k shouldn't be a big deal and i have 5ac 55hp rings I can borrow from my necro until I can afford another set. Newbie monk gear seems pretty reasonably priced. |

Your stat distribution is just fine. I put mine in strength because I knew that I was never really going to be super well-geared and raiding. Apparently, once you're raid geared, the only stat that you'll have a hard time maxing is stamina, so anyone who is hardcore puts the starting stats into stamina. IMO strength will make it easier to get to 60, though. Either way, it doesn't really matter too much.

The generally accepted Monk stat point distributions are either all in STA (like you did), all in STR, or a slit down the middle. I too, am an Iksar Monk, and put all my points into STA, for those same reasons. STR gear is MUCH easier to get than STA gear, and I was looking to be a puller, even tho I ended up being MT more often than not. Either way, your stats are fine, no need at all to reroll.

Could be like me and start with dex/str because I forgot what monks needed when I first started playing again haha. Was too late when I realized what I had done...
