Mouse look completely unusable.

Hello, I sometimes play on my work laptop and use a Virtual machine copy of Windows XP on it.

For some reason or another, the mouse look is completely messed up. It is *INSANELY* accelerated. Moving the mouse even slightly will rocket the view into that direction.

Any ideas?

Set max fps to about 40 or so.

Gylen 12-26-2013 07:34 AM

No, you really don't. It's not usable at all, and this is coming from the same type of gamer as you are.

I tried what Jasonz suggested, with no luck.

Change your max fps. The higher the better for mouse-look sensitivity.

Try lowering it to 40 or 60 then. Maybe I had it backwards.

Gylen 12-26-2013 03:31 PM

I've tried both, with no luck. Max FPS, 40, 60, 10. Nothing.

Have you tried lower the mouselook sensitivity in options?

Also, try decreasing your dpi and turning off mouseaccel in mouse settings.

I made a post about this back in 2009 on another forum account of mine and never found a resolution to the problem. The mouselook sensitivity setting nor the max FPS suggestion worked when I tried them. I think I found a post addressing this problem years later, but by that time I had gotten my hands on a PC and it was no longer a problem.

I'll try and dig around on these forums for a solution later on. If I find it, I'll post it. I just bought myself a new macbook pro and I plan on installing windows/VMware and running p99 on it, and I'm sure I'll experience this problem again myself.

I play on a bootcamped macbook pro and have never had this problem.

Have you tried using Windows via a Virtual Machine with software like VM ware? If so, do you have a good comparison of Bootcamp versus VM? I'm curious as to the pros/cons of each method.

And, what version of windows are you running by chance?
