Trained Research to 175
 

for 50 levels i collected runes. every bank slot had a 10 slot container with runes. sat down to begin the big push to 185 skill so i could make ice comet, but first went to trainer to max out how far i could advance with training points. to my surprise i bought skill-ups all the way to 175. Has anyone else done it this way? or does everyone do combines...

Yeah, I started doing combines and practice research til about lvl 30 then realized you could just train at the GM. Lot of wasted time begging for froglok eyes in Guk...

Yeah I found it much easier to train at the trainer then do combines. Just like you I saved up my runes, and then realized how pointless it all was hahaha.

It's definitely the easiest way to do it. I think it only took around 2k to train my Research from nothing to 180 something, if anyone is wondering the cost.

Not worth doing it any other way than training at the GM. Costs a couple kpp but so, so worth it.

Agree with above posters...the time you'd spend collecting runes/pages is way more than going to Highkeep or camp "X" for a few hours to get the 2kpp together.
