P99 behind a sonicwall / SaaS

I think it might be related to either our sonicwall or our SaaS. Both of which I can get access to.

I want to play from work but can't. What do I do?

Set eqgame.exe to windows xp sp3 compatability

Heh, Speaking as a Sonicwall Certified Technician, this has no relation to the sonicwall. SaaS I cant speak for, as McAfee is a piece of shit and does random things to piss me off on a daily basis. That error looks like a resolution Mismatch error I see all the time with EQ. Go to the eqclient.ini and Find the resolution settings. Switch this to something you know you can run on your monitor. Also, change Fullscreen to false.

Firewall won't cause apps to crash unless they are using Cisco NAC with client extension control, which sonicwall does not have.

I would be mindful of playing at work, as a firewall admin I can tell you that they can see you are playing everquest by the traffic quite easily. At my work place that would be sufficient to have you called down, and written up, with subsequent offenses resulting in termination.
Just food for thought.

Also a CSSA myself, Sonicwall would not be causing this, and I've played behind one before.

So.. my thought. It's not related to Firewalls in any way.

Are you using EQW? ie: EQ Windows? Because that program stopped working, and threw up this error due to that fact after a patch a few months back.

Solution? Stop using EQW. No one has got it working (as far as I know) and run EQ in windowed mode on its own.

Edit your EQclient.ini file to Windowed mode = true

Hope this helps!

I did all that stuff in the help thread and tried all kinds of resolutions.

I removed windows compatibility and administrator checks from the shortcut on a default eqclient.ini and it started up fine.

Thanks for the heads up but my network manager happens to be a long time friend of mine. Hes got me in all the admin SaaS GPO's for no restrictions.
